What to Pack in your Carryon Luggage?

If the embarkation port of your dream cruise is somewhere other than the UK, the need for a flight is very clear. While the P&O Oriana is based on the south coast of England in Southampton, not all cruises are quite so accessible; when you opt for one of the last minute cruises, you may not even have this choice.
While a flight to the port will, more often than not, be stress-free and uneventful, there’s always a risk of lost luggage, which, of course, will be returned once it’s found. In the meantime, however, you’ll need something else to keep you going.

On most flights, a carryon bag will be used to store all of your documents and things to occupy you during the flight, such as books, magazines and hi-tech gadgets. When cruising, it’s recommended that this cabin bag also includes some crucial items that, should your bag get lost in transit, will keep you comfortable, clean and prepared for anything.

  • A spare set of clothes would be ideal, just in case. If your suitcase gets lost, there’s no guarantee when it will be returned to you. The last thing you’ll want is to be in the same clothes until then, and you don’t want to be spending unnecessary amounts on new outfits if there’s no need. A fresh pair of light trousers, top and undergarments will help to keep you going.
  • Toiletries that will be invaluable, which adhere to current regulations, placed into a clear zip lock bag. Products such as toothpaste, a toothbrush, shampoo and shower gel could be essential.
  • Your favourite book, mp3 player or magazine to keep you occupied whilst waiting for the flight and during the transit time.

Know the dimensions of cabin baggage that you need to adhere to and make the most of the space you have without making it too heavy. Take a look at the last minute cruises available, today.
