3 Easy Tips To Quickly Straighten Hair!

tips to straighten hair with flat iron
Summer is upon us and looking your best while you are out and about with friends and family is of importance to many. With the warmer temperatures and high humidity comes difficulty when styling your tresses. Often, there are challenges with hair due to the weather. These challenges can be an overly oily scalp from sweating, frizzy hair from intense heat and humidity, or chlorine from swimming pools changing hair color from blonde to greenish gray. While all of these dilemmas are pertinent to summer hair care, this article will focus on quick tips to straighten frizzy hair.

1. Temperature. Be sure that your flat iron is heated up to the correct temperature. Try hard to avoid setting your iron at the hottest temperature possible as this can zap the ends of your hair, dry out your hair, and cause damage that is irreparable.

If you are finding that keeping your iron at a lower temperature is causing you to have to go over your hair multiple times, feel free to turn up the heat. Be careful when going over your hair several times as this can cause static electricity to build up in your locks which is not something you want. To avoid this, you can use products such as Moroccan Oil to help keep frizz and static at bay. If turning up the heat does not work, you may want to consider investing in a different flat iron.

2. Style. Before you begin the task of straightening your hair, have an idea of what look you are going for. If you want your hair to be as straight as possible, divide up your hair into sections and slowly go over each section with your flat iron. Another trick is to begin straightening your locks from the bottom layers and working your way to the top. Be careful to avoid static by only going over your hair a couple of times with the iron. If you are more interested in smoothing your hair, you can separate your locks into bigger sections.

3. Brushing. After you have straightened each section of your hair, brush it carefully. Often times people think that combing your hair is the best option but in reality brushing is better. Be sure to add some product to your hair to add volume. Using a brush instead of a comb will also help control volume.

Other things to remember when straightening your hair is that the type of iron you use makes a difference. If you do not have a lot of money to purchase a high end iron, try to buy one that is made of ceramic. There are many budget models on the market that can work well for home use. If you are more interested in a professional use iron, be sure to take time in researching various models and features. You will likely spend a great deal of money on a professional model and it is only fiscally responsible to make sure that you are getting the best buy for the money you are spending by doing your research first.
