The Resort was awarded Asia’s Leading Golf Resort by World Travel Awards in 2003 and nominated several times for Asia’s Leading Golf Resort, World’s Leading Golf Resort and Indonesia’s Leading Golf Resort. A popular host venue for corporate golf tournaments for golfers from the region, the Bintan Lagoon Golf Club has also been hosting the BLR Ryder Cup games yearly since 1998. The inaugural Bintan Lagoon Golf Club President’s Cup was held in November 2015 and returned in September 2016.
What We Like
Unlike other resorts, Bintan Lagoon Resort has its own private catamaran - the Mozaic Ferry Lines. With the high-speed ferry, guests enjoy skipping the long immigration queues and commuting in a public shuttle bus, landing directly at the resort’s doorstep. This saved us lots of time since there was hardly any queue at their private immigration, and we found ourselves in the resort grounds in just a few minutes. This is great especially for those travelling with kids.
There is a plethora of both outdoor and indoor activities for both adults and children such as Archery, All Terrain Vehicle ( ATV ), Sky Lanterns, Batik Painting, Electric Bikes, Wii/ Xbox, Powerhouse Gym and more, not to mention the resort's two 18-hole championship courses. Guests can also enjoy a handful of complimentary games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Billiards / Snooker, Board Games etc.
Friendly staff with excellent and efficient service; extremely attentive and quick to respond to our needs.
Although complimentary wifi with a bandwidth of 256 Mbps is available throughout the resort, in-room connection was slow. Our wifi did not connect automatically, and we had to log in each time. Connection in the room on Day 2 was especially poor and I had to request for a wifi router. What's Notable - Staff was quick to respond, sending in a tech guy with the router and everything else was a charm.
Despite the little hiccup, our overall experience was rather a satisfying one. The attentiveness of the staff with their ever-ready smiles on their face overshadowed any minor imperfection we had at the resort.
Nothing luxurious nor pretentious about this welcoming property, Bintan Lagoon Resort offers holiday makers an idyllic retreat especially for the urban dwellers. The resort charms with its many picturesque spots and it offers a great escape for those seeking refuge from the city. Take advantage of this secluded sanctuary with its lush greenery and serene environment. It could be a romantic couple's getaway, a hang-out with friends or family, or even an all-ladies' retreat from all the noise and tension.
