Eastern Europe Day 9 Continues: Decorated by a continuous alley of 30 statues and statuaries, the Charles Bridge is a famous historic bridge that crosses the Vltava River in Prague. The bridge is built of sandstone blocks, flanked at each end by fortified towers - Lesser Town Bridge Towers and the Old Town Bridge Tower.

The clock mechanism itself is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details. The Sun arm with a golden hand attached to it shows three various times on the astronomical dial: common civil time, Old Czech Time and Babylonian time.

The Old Town Hall is a tourist attraction you must not miss. Interestingly, the houses here are connected one by one to a single unit for the purpose of administration of the Old Town of Prague. You will find charming architectures such as the House At The Minute, a Czech Renaissance townhouse decorated with sgraffito, depicting scenes drawn from biblical and mythological sources, as well as contemporary Renaissance legends.

It is one of the most extraordinary Gothic religious buildings in Prague.

It's shopping time! Havelske Trziste aka Havel's Market is a great place to buy souvenirs, and the outdoor market is extremely popular with both locals and tourists. Located just a stone's throw from Wenceslas Square or Old Town Square, the city centre’s permanent market operates all year round. I have to admit prices are very attractive.

praha old town square thajsky raj body massage
So much for shopping and sightseeing, a massage is needed to relieve your tired body and feet. Sadly, my travel pal isn't into massage, so I left her at a cafe in the Old Town Square and wondered off alone in search of massage parlours and found Thajsky Raj aka Thai Paradise located in the city centre.

prague oil massage thai paradise price list
It is a pretty decent place and prices are reasonable. I had a satisfying 60-minute oil massage for CZK 1,199, approx USD 50, and fully recharged after the therapy. Not too bad considering I managed to get two body massages in this trip! Well, this marks the end of my Eastern Europe tour. Day 10 was a leisure day till it was time to depart for our flight back to Singapore.

Although I have travelled to many parts of Europe, I had an awesome time rediscovering Europe's rich history and their stunning architectures in the eastern part, and totally captivated by their remarkable sights. I would definitely love to revisit, perhaps in another season like spring or autumn.
