The Guest-of-Honour at the opening of NATAS Travel 2016 is His Excellency, Miguel Angel Navarro Portera, Spanish Ambassador to Singapore.
Some highlights of the NATAS Travel 2016 are as follows:
More Singaporeans are going on cruises every year. According to Singapore Tourism Board statistics, the Asia cruise industry is experiencing double digit growth. At NATAS Travel 2016, visitors will have a wide choice of six cruises to Asia, Europe, America and Caribbean to pick from.
Recognising the trend of savvy travellers who do not want a group tour but prefer a personalised itinerary, Gutereise! and Green Island offer tailor-made packages for these discerning FITs (frequent and independent travellers).
NATAS’ strategic healthcare partner, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), will be at the Fair providing advice on travel-related vaccinations and health matters. This is especially important for those travelling to Rio de Janiero for the summer Olympics with the recent outbreak of the Zika virus. This is part of a broader initiative by NATAS and TTSH to educate the travel community on essential travel health matters and to help travellers be prepared for their trips so that they will come back bringing happy memories and also remain in the pink of health.
Picture Perfect Moments
Mr Lance Leong, resident instructor with Canon Singapore, will be giving tips on how to take good travel pictures. Visitors can also learn from him the perfect lighting and setting for a good photo.
Mr Steven Lek, Executive Director of NATAS, said: “We are pleased that NATAS Travel 2016 has much to offer to all visitors and it is just not about cheap promotions and discounted airfares. Besides lucky draws, there are health talks and cultural performances from Indonesia and Nepal to entertain the crowd. Visitors can also sample some of the food represented by the various countries such as Indonesian, Italian Pasta, Japanese Samurice, Si Chuan Dan Dan Noodle, Turkish kebab, Taiwanese street food as well as liquors and wines”.
