The Hungarian currency is the Forint. Although Hungary is part of the European Union, it does not use the Euro as its currency. Be sure to take some cash with you to cover your trip, as most businesses there are still largely cash-based. Except for touristy attractions, I found many items cost less in Hungary than in Western Europe.
There are many grades of foie gras, look for the best which is the Golden Label containing 99% goose liver. The Golden Goose Liver is the only goose liver which is made without force-feeding, which means the geese eat and live the natural way.
