Prawns and mangoes are a great combination to the egg mayo base. Instead of using caviar like before, I substituted with Tobiko (とびこ) this time.

casabento delicious japanese tobiko chawanmushi recipe
As explained in my previous Irresistible Tobiko Chawanmushi In CasaBento Box (とびこの茶碗蒸し) post, #tobiko is a type of fish roe with a crunchy texture. Adding them to your food give you another taste of satisfaction. This steamed custard egg is especially yummy with tobiko and shitake mushrooms. Try it!

I met Rosie in Facebook a while ago. She enjoys cooking a lot and often posts her food pix on FB. I was delighted when she made my Inari Age for her party and added a cute note to the party theme. Don't you think she did a great job?

I made another batch the other day. Since I've a packet of the Angry Birds fishcakes in my freezer, I used them to add a playful theme to my bento tray. To make these cute appetizers, just click on the links above and follow the recipe; simply add tobiko to the egg mayo mixture with prawns and mangoes and you're good to go!
