Who doesn’t love to shop? The thrill of finding the perfect shoes and classic evening bag never grows old. Along with those gorgeous flats is the excitement of finding a genuine bargain! So when you love to shop, and love a fantastic deal, what are some easy tips to help you save on your next shopping spree?

The following six money savers are on the list: everything from finding discounts to using coupons - just a few of the best ways to save on everything!

1) Shop in the Older Malls:
While they may seem somewhat outdated, many of the older malls offer wonderful opportunities for bargain hunters. Take time to look; what may not be obvious at first could turn out to be the real thing. Decide on a budget before leaving home, prepare to haggle if necessary, and remember to separate the cool from the pseudo deals.

2) Shop Online:
Shopping online is another good way to save money. Comparison shopping requires a simple swipe of the finger. It’s so easy to find discounts and coupons that you can use at favourite stores, theatres, and on your favourite products. American Express Singapore has a bunch of great discounts and credit card rewards that can be used online. When you’re e-shopping always locate the discounted items, clothes that have just one or two sizes left are often delegated to the sale page, allowing amazing opportunities to find your size at a drastically reduced price.

3) Shop Flea Markets and Vintage Locations:
Truly awesome gently-worn fashions can be found at neighbourhood second hand shops, sometimes with the original sale stag still attached! Vintage clothing is one of the latest trends this season, keep track of upcoming markets and take advantage of terrific bargains. Before you go, decide on the types of items you really need and carry only the cash that you know you can afford to spend. It’s that easy to get carried away by the colour and the glitz.

4) Shop for the Best Prices:
Shop for the best prices while making sure you’re getting what you are paying for. What looks like a steal could be exactly that… a knock-off of a designer brand. Find out where you can locate the best prices on quality items, whether you’re shopping for the latest device or a new jacket. It’s worth your time to do a little investigating. Determine where the ideal locations are. Shopping may take a little longer but you can save a small fortune in the long run.

5) Shop at the Right Time:
Not only is location important, shopping at the right time of the week, or year, can take the strain off your budget. You may want to put off a purchase until the item goes on sale. IT fairs offer incredible savings and many pharmacies mark down products throughout the months, sometimes up to 20% off!

6) Shop with a Membership:
If you are a regular customer at a specific store, use their discount or membership savings to your advantage. Mall cards and shopping apps provide rebates and mark-downs. Just by downloading a simple app you can track the latest reductions in prices and take advantage of local deals.

Shop with a list, compare prices, purchase the basics, and never shop when you’re depressed or bored. Save receipts, look for value, and find the bargains of a lifetime!

    1. Balvinder, I've to admit online shopping for clothes & shoes aren't always fruitful. I've been hit couple of times too when sizes didn't fit. Nonetheless, I love shopping online for healthy supplements, dog treats, beauty stuff. They're such a bargain!
