Naoki Yoshihara by Ash at Liang Court (ナオキ ヨシハラ バイ アッシュ)

日本最大のへアサロンがシンガポールへ!Enticing about 1.2 million Japanese customers in a year is Naoki Yoshihara by Ash, a stylish Japanese hair salon located at Liang Court Singapore, a mall popular among the Japanese community.

Sporting a spacious lounge area upon entering the salon, be greeted by a bright white space with a clean and modern ambience with professional hair stylists taking care of your needs.

I'd been invited to Naoki Yoshihara by Ash sometime back, but due to my 6-mth commitment with another hair salon, I couldn't accept then. With stylists trained in Japan and certified by the founder of ASH brand, Naoki Yoshihara himself, I was certainly pleased to have a new hair-do for this Christmas following the expiry of my "contract".

During my visit, I was greeted by their Japanese Director/CEO, and the Creative Director, which gave me the opportunity to put my rusty Japanese language into use.

Three stylists, including one #Japanese stylist, have just come back from the training in Yokohama with the latest knowledge and techniques. I was really fortunate to have Masami Kuramochi-san in town to do my hair as he shuttles between Japan and Singapore frequently.

Some months back, I did a Nano Perm as my hair was not in a very good condition, and that was a good treatment to give a natural looking perm without further damage. This time, I asked Kuramochi-san if it's possible to rebond the top and perm only the bottom part for easy maintenance. I'm not good at styling my own hair, and usually had mine done at salons. Having this combination will certainly help me cut down the time spent on styling my hair.

I was also concerned if this type of chemical treatment will damage my hair. Kuramochi-san assured me that no damage would be done, and that he would give me a Moisture Treatment after my perm.

Assisted by their Malaysian stylist Kelvin, Kuramochi-san went on to rebond my hair. After that, a lotion was applied to the hair ends to prevent damage for my digital perm. I shall not go into details since most of us are already familiar with the procedures of #rebonding and #digitalperm.

I was then given a good hair cut.........

Sitting through a chemical treatment is never easy. The entire process took considerable time like applying heat protector, blow drying, straightening, and then using medium curlers for the digital perm. Besides flipping though magazines, I'd a relatively good time chatting with Kuramochi-san since he's new to Singapore. Hence, my time was put to good use.

When the perm was done, my hair was given a Moisture Treatment which took another 10 mins or so.

My thoughts:
Having visited many hair salons in the Ginza area of Japan mainly for hair wash and treatments, I would say the normal services at #NaokiYoshihara by Ash are comparable by standards. The salon is neat and clean, and provided a relatively professional service.

Only concerned I've noted was that the staff there weren't too familiar with the names of the products used when asked. I felt that this area could be further improved as some clients may like to know the product names and what exactly are being applied on their hair.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the skills and technique especially with the results of my hair. After my rebonding and digital perm, my hair is still in a good condition; not dry nor brittle. Price wise, it's pretty reasonable considering my treatment was done by a Japanese Creative Director.
Rating: ★★★★☆

  3. Nice hair do! I have natural curls and I have lots of fry away hair on the upper portion. Mmm... you give me a good idea, maybe I should rebond my top portion and leave the bottom natural.

  6. Hey Shirley, nice hairstyle... I would like to be pampered like you too... every now and then, changing hairstyle, I would like that but just cannot afford to do so. :) As it is now, my hair is always straight, easy to take care and knowing myself as "lazy", I can just wash and let it dry by itself.. :)

Have a Merry Christmas, Shirley... Hope you have great fun with your family and love ones!

    1. Reana, guess your hair has to be healthy to afford a frequent change. Needs lots of treatment to maintain it in a good condition. I've to agree straight hair is much easier. Happy holidays to you too, dear!

  8. Phewitt! Beautiful girl. You look great. Nice curls . Very natural.

I dont really enjoy my salon experience because of the lenghty time. Hate those waiting. Haha. But to be beautiful we got to be patient, right? Few years now I didnt perm or straighten my hair. ;)

  12. Shirley, you set a good example for regular hair maintenance -- yours looks absolutely gorgeous! The new "do" looks great on you! I enjoy catching up on magazines during wait times, too. Merry Christmas!

P.S. Sorry for not commenting for so long (you can delete this p.s. if you want!) -- finally got through to you today. I've been having trouble getting past your Facebook pop-up box. It appears mid-way through your posts and locks up my screen so I can't read the rest of the post or get to the comment box. (Might be my internet service provider (upgraded recently) or who knows what, ha?!) Anyway, the pop-up box just "stays there" and it's three-fourths blank -- doesn't show a FB "like" button or anything. Thought you'd want to know -- let me know if I'm doing anything wrong, lol. Merry Christmas, my friend!!! xoxo

    1. Subha, it should last about 6 - 9 mths depending on the texture of your hair. I'm surprise you don't have that in your country....... Sorry for the late reply as I've been tied up with the hosts of giveaways in my blog.
