cp charoen pokphand food review
Mention the name #CP to the locals here, the first pleasant response you’ll get is either about their famous Shrimp Wonton, or their popular Gyoza. Thanks for CP Foods, I got to try more of their innovative yummy food products including some of their new launches!

I got to try CP's Appetizing CP Chicken Gyoza some time ago & they were delicious too. Simply spin the dumplings with some Spinach & you’ll get a delicious dish fit for entertaining. I was extremely delighted to receive another two packs of the gyozas this time.

cp ready meal basil chicken rice review
Hubby & I had the fiery Stir-Fried Chicken & Basil with Rice, & the tangy Breaded Fish in Tamarind Sauce with Jasmine Rice for dinner one night. The Chicken & Basil has gotta be the highlight in our tasting session cause it was smacking good! If you enjoy spicy food, you’ll like this tasty chicken dish with garlicky taste. Although it may be on the salty side, but it’s perfect with the rice.

The addition of kaffir lime leaves gave the fish dish a nice fragrance when eaten. The fish in the tamarind sauce was nice & sweet, but somehow lacked the sourish tinge. One thing we’ve both noted & agreed was the quality of the Jasmine rice. I’m real fussy when it comes to rice as I really dislike those lumpy & soggy ones. The rice in the CP Ready Meals were all evenly cooked, & quality of rice itself is pretty high. We love every grain of it! You can tell that #CPfoods pay attention even to the basics of the starch.

cp ready meal breaded fish tamarind sauce review
#CPReadyMeals come conveniently packed in microwavable lunch boxes so you can even have them in your office. We paired our rice dishes with CP Japanese Crispy Gyoza (SGD 4.60), the well-loved Japanese gyoza in crispy nugget style, & we had a wonderful meal! I like the fact that the gyoza is thinly coated with breadcrumbs unlike some other brands of "nuggets" which are coated with thick layer of flour. The dumplings were light & crispy; definitely some delightful bites!

cp japanese crispy gyoza review
If you haven’t eaten CP Japanese Golden Crispy (SGD 4.60), you just gotta try! These are extra crispy fried chicken, Japanese-style, & perfect to go with a cup of instant noodles too!

cp vegetarian meals review
For the Veggi-saurus, you’ll be happy to know that CP has also come up with 2 vegetarian products:
  • CP Vegetarian Yakisoba (SGD 2.95) - Classic Japanese stir-fried noodles cooked in sweet, and soya sauce, mixed with fresh vegetables & shitake mushrooms.
  • CP Vegetarian Stir-Fried Holy Basil with Rice (SGD 2.95) - Created from original famous Thai dish: stir-fried Thai basil leaves, fresh vegetables, & red bird-eye chilli with rice.

cp shrimp burger reviews
Hey, do you know that CP also launched their own burgers which are exclusively to #7Eleven?
  • *NEW CP Shrimp Burger (SGD 2.80) - Filled with succulent shrimps, feast on the CP Shrimp Burger for a twist on the ordinary burger.
  • *NEW CP Teriyaki Chicken Burger (SGD 2.80) - Tasty chicken patty marinated with popular teriyaki sauce for a full lip-smacking meal.
My son was fast to grab these burgers! He really likes the Shrimp #Burger which has a slight resemblance to the fish burgers in fast food joints!

cp shrimp wonton tom yum soup review
If you’ve been a fan of CP’s Wonton, you may like to try their CP Shrimp Wonton with Noodles in Tom Yum Soup (SGD 4) too! Made from the freshest whole shrimp, & served with noodles in a #TomYum soup made from a blend of herbs such as shallots, lemongrass & lime peel, it’s definitely a great alternative to your usual instant noodles!

After seeing so many of CP Appetizers & Ready Meals, what’s your pick? Are you already salivating? Have you tried any of them?

Thank you CP Foods, for these wonderful treats!

  5. I wouldn't mind tasting every single one of these delights all at the same time, Shirley! I have some Gyoza in the freezer but I don't know what company they are from. But, the thought of them being all crispy and crunchy is just too much for this "gal" to bear. The next time you chow down, please remember me and have lots of little bites for me too, lol...

Thank you so much for sharing, Shirley...Now I'm very hungry and it's only breakfast time!

    1. Louise, usually we would pan fry the gyozas but my family was having a steamboat session just couple of days ago, & we threw in some too. They're so versatile! Happy cooking & have a good week, dear!

  6. Shirley, these look mighty convenient and if they passed your taste test, that's a huge recommendation! I'm a stickler for rice being "just right" too. ;) The Chicken Green Curry sounded good to me, as did the dumplings. These will come in handy when your on-the-go doesn't permit time for "scratch" cooking!

  15. My jaws really dropped in disbelief when I clicked and it confirmed that my guess of CP is the name of its founder Charoen Pokphand of Thailand!!! This tycoon has really come a long way since I first heard of his very unique way of rearing chickens inside air conditioned coops back in the 90s! I worked for an agency which tried to promote his CP Chicken nuggets then. He had too many tough competitors here.

I don't think this brand of new products has entered Malaysian market yet as I always stroll inside foodmarts like an Aunty! LOL. I will definitely support his quality products!
