Park Hotel Group Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival With Tasty Treats!

The Mid-Autumn Festival is here again, & it’s time for mooncakes scouting! Each year, restaurants are coming up with fanciful flavours to entice their customers. What’s your pick – sweet or savoury?

Call me conservative, as traditional mooncakes with macademia nuts & yolks work best for me! The more yolks, the better! This year, Park Hotel Group (百樂酒店集團) surprised me with their yummy myriad of baked & snowskin mooncakes. Let’s start with me introducing their traditional mooncakes since the sight of yolks simply drives me weak!

Made at the award-winning Park Palace, these #TradtionalMooncakes are elegantly encased in gold pearlescent boxes. Hot-stamped with lovely peonies in bloom to represent good luck & riches, complete with elegant butterflies to represent life & hope, this chic yet traditional packaging evokes a unification of rich age-old traditions and contemporary elegance.

With a minimum order of 500 boxes of four mooncakes, you may even personalise the box with a complimentary clear magnetic acrylic with company logo! (Limited to one colour silk screen; T&C apply).

Baked Mooncakes:
  • White Lotus Seed Paste with Double-Yolk (双黄白莲蓉)
  • Golden Jade with Duo Nuts (金翡翠双仁月饼)
  • Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia Nuts (低糖夏果白莲蓉 ).

For those health-conscious, you may like to know that #ParkHotelGroup offers Low-sugar Mooncakes & Vegetarian Pandan-flavoured ones too! Refreshing pandan flavours are infused into the white lotus paste mixed with crunchy pine & melon seeds in the Golden Jade with Duo Nuts (金翡翠双仁月饼). This new creation is definitely worth a try especially for those vegetarians out there!

My pick goes to the Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia Nuts (低糖夏果白莲蓉 ). Since most mooncakes in the market are quite sweet, this one is definitely for me. Studded with bite-size macadamia nuts adds crunch in every bite!

For the adventurous, #ParkPalace will make you go “Wow!” with their innovative & tantalising Snowskin Mooncakes:
  • Signature Lychee & Lychee in Snowskin (招牌冰皮荔枝)
  • Baileys Truffle & Mint in Snowskin (冰皮薄荷百利巧克)
  • Black Sesame & White Lotus Seed Paste with Mochi in Snowskin (冰皮黑芝麻麻薯白莲蓉)
  • Sakura Truffle & White Lotus Seed Paste in Snowskin (冰皮樱花松露巧克力白莲蓉).

The #Snowskin Mooncakes will delight you with an attractive centerpiece. Chocolate lovers will certainly go for the attention-seeking Baileys Truffle & Mint, & Sakura Truffle. Looking pretty in pink, the Sakura Truffle with White Lotus Paste enraptures with an aromatic lure & vibrant freshness. With a white #chocolate truffle nestled on a bed of luscious white lotus paste infused with flavours of Sakura, this intricate combination conveys a sense of luxury & poise with every bite.

Unfortunately, the #Baileys in the green mini mooncake was overpowered by the yummy truffle. Nevertheless, it’s still my top pick cause I love the minty taste, & of course the chocolate!

Sprinkled with gold dust & enrobed in a black sesame infused white lotus paste with a specially imported chewy mochi in the centre, the distinctive taste of this creatively-made Black Sesame with Mochi Snowskin evokes feelings of mysticism & excitement.

My son loves the Lychee & Lychee cause he likes the feeling of biting into the tropical fruit. This best-seller is another nice scented mooncake oozing with real lychee fruits!

Usually the KL hotels would charge exorbitant prices here but their tastes and fillings are usually the best.

  16. hey Shirley, so many "tempting" choices, don't know which to pick but like you, I prefer those authentic ones. I used to love egg yolks but nowadays, I prefer them plain.. (maybe too healthy conscious already these days!)... Maybe I will get some when I go Singapore next month... :)
