Singapore Airlines Book-The-Cook & Tokyo Makuhari Outlet Shopping (三井アウトレットパーク幕張)

I'm known to be quite a fussy eater. So to play safe, I like exploring Singapore Airlines Book-the-Cook service offering business & first class passengers a list of premium dishes from world-acclaimed chefs.

This trip to Tokyo, I'd pre-ordered my meals before my flight. Take a look at what I had onboard the Boeing 777:

singapore airlines book-the-cook
Appetizer: Prawns Salad with Proscuitto Ham & Mozzarella Cheese.

singapore airlines book-the-cook baked king prawn
Main Course: Baked King Prawn with Chilli Sauce, served with Taiwan cabbage.

singapore airlines book-the-cook dessert
Dessert: Tiramisu Ice-cream with Berry Compote.

Of course, passengers can also select from the regular menu given above.

On selected flights between Singapore & Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, & between Tokyo & Los Angeles, there's also a Japanese selection created by SIA's International Culinary Panel Chef, Yoshihiro Murata. The Hanakoireki is an elaborate service exquisitely presented & served in a traditional Japanese style. I choose this at times when I fly to Japan & you can read more about it on one of my flights @ Fly The World's Largest Plane - A380!

conrad tokyo bears
It's always nice checking into a Conrad Hotel, where you'll be greeted by their signature rubber duckling in the bathroom & teddy bears. This trip was real fruitful as I'd collected 4 bears in total, adding them to my collection.

My 1st shopping spree was to Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari in Tokyo, just about 30 mins away by train from Conrad Tokyo.

  9. wow... Shirley!! U didnt follow the tour, right? Better to go for a free and easy trip, can explore more things without limited time.. the last time I went, it was running here and there.. so much so, my daughter vomited each time we arrived somewhere.. hahaha.. so pitiful..

    1. Reana, Tokyo is easy to navigate, no need for tours at all. After all, I don't sight-see whenever I'm there. Just shop & eat & catch up with old friends. Oh dear, u're so funny! Torturing your daughter ah? Hahaha!

  10. Good idea to book your own meal where possible. Airline food can be sometimes terribly awful.

I've only stayed at Conrad Spore so far. And its always good to stay there. Awesome service...and best of all, its a very comfy high bed with a teddy for company. Love the rubber duckies too with a good salt soak that they provide.

  11. We pretty much travel by Singapore or Cathy Pacific Air lines. Did they start the booking of premium dishes recently? Because I haven't seen such premium meal last time I traveled. Its a good idea, though.

  12. I'd always go for either Singapore or MAS whenever I'm traveling. Is this premium meal open for all flight destinations? Me being me, I might want to book my own meal when I'm going to NZ.

Tokyo's so nice! Haven't been there, but it looks like a place I'll love to go to.
