Magical Christmas At Home & Universal Studios

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland.
merry christmas
How did you celebrate your X'mas? Did you fill your Christmas tree with lots of goodies? Well, it's was just a simple threesome affair at home for us on X'mas Eve. Although it wasn't winter here nor it was snowing, we had it all in our hearts....

On X'mas Eve, I was busy in the kitchen preparing a 4-course dinner for my two men. I cooked two Japanese dishes using Mentaiko (明太子) & Picked Vegetables (からし高菜) that I'd bought from Japan. Here's our X'mas menu:
asian chicken broth with fish
Asian Chicken Broth with Fish & Shimeji Mushrooms

hotate mentaiyaki, christmas baked scallops

christmas mentaiko, pork and pickled vegetables spaghetti
Mentaiko, Pork & Pickled Vegetables Spaghetti
(明太子と豚からし高菜スパゲッティ)

xmas matcha granita with haagen-dazs ice-cream
X'mas Matcha Granita with Haagen-Dazs Ice-cream

Though it was a quiet celebration this year, but we had fun at the dinner table as well as guessing & unwrapping our presents.

On Christmas Day, we spent the entire day at Universal Studios Singapore. Weather was perfect; cool & windy with no rain.  So how did you spend your X'mas?

The gift of love,
The gift of peace,
The gift of happiness.
May all these be yours at Christmas,
With love from Luxury Haven!

  2. Shirley, your Christmas spirit is heartwarming! I'm sure your hubby & son appreciated the love and care you put into that special meal, as well as the other thoughtful things you added to the holidays -- including this post! We had a quiet Christmas, too -- just the two of us and SNOW! Happy New Year!
