Amazing Kitchen Tips (Part V)

learn about these handy kitchen tips
This is the last chapter, ending my posts on Amazing Kitchen Tips. I hope you've found these pointers useful & please do share with us if you've any of your own. I'm sure the readers here would be pleased to try them out.

On the other hand, if you like these kitchen tips, forward & share these articles with your friends. Happy cooking & stay safe in the kitchen!

  1. If your milk always goes bad before you can finish it, try adding a pinch of salt to the carton when you first open it. It will stay fresh days longer.
  2. Water that has been boiled & allowed to cool will freeze faster than water from the tap. This comes in handy when you’re having a party & need ice pronto.
  3. Remove tea or coffee stains from your Fine China by mixing up a paste of baking soda, lemon juice & cream of tartar. Rub it over the stains & they will come off easily.
  4. If two drinking glasses become stuck together after stacking, it’s not impossible to unstick them. Just put ice in the inner glass & dunk the outer glass in warm water. The warm glass will expand & the cold glass will contract, making the glasses separate easily.
  5. For splinters under the fingernail, soaking the affected finger in a bowl of milk with a piece of bread in it is said to draw out the splinter.
  6. Did grandpa ever give you a drink of cola for an upset tummy? It turns out that this is actually a pretty effective remedy. The sugar & carbonation can soothe
many tummy problems - but it can also exacerbate others.
  7. Putting salty bacon on a boil is said to draw the poison out of boils.
  8. To help old wooden drawers (without runners) open & close smoothly, rub a candle on the tracks.
  9. A cotton ball soaked in white vinegar & applied to a fresh bruise will reduce the darkness of the bruise & help it disappear sooner.
  10. Drinking cranberry juice & eating blueberries regularly will help stave off urinary tract infections.
Well, thank you for reading my series of Amazing Kitchen Tips! Remember to share with your friends so they too, can benefit from these tips.

  1. Once again, great tips! I love the first one about the milk. Hubby always buys 4 liters and sometimes we have problems finishing it. Then 2 liters is not enough. Haha. Tip #3 will definitely come in handy for heavy tea or coffee drinkers. Thanks again for sharing, Shirley.

  2. Great tips! I have one to share here too.
To stop your mirror from fogging after a hot shower:
1st spray some water on the mirror, next rub powder or bar soap all over, after awhile, wipe clean with newsapaper, viola! your bathroom mirror will never fog again.
try this tip whenever you clean your bathroom mirror and you will know it works.
